Survivor Philippines: Lisa Struggles with Strategies

Night 22: Nine contestants return to their camp after tribal council. Jon discusses tribal council voting with Carter, as he wonders how Jeff got voted out. Lisa feels guilty about how she played the game because it is not her normal style to lie, cheat, steal, and deceive others. She decides to apologize to Malcolm, but he tells her that he understands because it is part of the game. Although she enjoys watching Survivor, she feels that this game is turning her into a bad Christian.

Day 23: Jon realizes that there are five original Tandang members, and they are dying to vote him out next. He needs to think up strategies in order to save himself because he worries that he will be next on the chopping block. He decides to work the two Christians, Lisa and Mike, in order to try to convince them to vote off one of the Tangdang members. He hangs out with Lisa, reminding her about her child actress life, when her job was mainly trying to please and entertain others because of a constant need to be loved and accepted by others. She was also the breadwinner of the family at a young age. He tells her that she doesn’t have to be perfect in order to be liked.

Day 24: Reward Challenge: The nine contestants are divided into two teams. They have to compete in an obstacle course, where they have to dive into muddy water by crawling under wooden crosshatch bars, climb over a sloped obstacle and slide down the other side, dive into a muddy area in search for three bags, and dive into a box filled with rice. The last part of the obstacle course involves taking out all the balls from the bags and tossing it into a closed hoop placed on top of a high pole. When the ball goes into the hoop, the ball slides down, inside the hollow pole. Abi sits out to even out the teams. The red team does well, but yellow team eventually catches up. Then, the red team finally scores the last ball inside the hoop. Jon, Denise, Carter and Malcolm win the reward, which involves “giving and receiving.” The four contestants will serve as Survivor Ambassadors, in which they will take needed school supplies and toys to poor Filipino kids. They will also be treated to a feast there. Neon colored hula hoops and other toys are distributed to the kids at the native village. As Jon plays games with the kids, such as a Pinata game, as well as jokes around with them, he realizes how happy these poor kids are, even though they don’t have much but each other. A long table is filled with food, and they all enjoy a feast together on the beach. Malcolm, Denise and Carter discuss the tribe members. They want to get Lisa and Mike on their side.

Meanwhile, at the camp, Abi, Pete, Lisa, Mike and Artis look depressed. Pete wants to get Mike and Lisa with them, but Abi doesn’t trust Lisa. Abi tells Lisa that she is gullible and naive as well as Jon needs to be voted out next. Artis thinks Abi has a big mouth and she needs to shut up.

Day 25: Immunity Challenge: Each contestant has to balance a paddle on a stand, while rolling small balls on the paddle and trying to keep six balls on the round section of the paddle without rolling off. The round area has six indentations for each ball to rest somewhat securely onto. Mike wins immunity. They return to their camp. Denise discusses her plan with Malcolm and Carter. She tells him that they should vote out Artis next, although Abi is annoying. Jon continues to work Lisa as they both relax in the shallow end of the ocean. He explains to her that Survivor is about telling stories each season, and the contestants are like characters in these stories. He is planting seeds into her head in hope to save himself from elimination. Jon then goes to Mike in order to work him. Then, Lisa and Mike discuss strategies and decisions in the ocean. Lisa tells him that she is considering going with the other group because she doesn’t like the original Tandang group.

Night 25: At Tribal Council, each contestant discusses their insecurities of be voted out next. No one is safe, except the person who is wearing the immunity idol. Lisa states that being on Survivor has changed her life and she will leave the show as a different person. Abi states that she doesn’t trust Lisa. Each contestant votes. Pete votes for Jon and Denise votes for Artis. Jeff Probst counts the votes. Jon has four votes and Artist has five votes. Therefore, Artis is the tenth person voted out as well as the third person on the Jury.

Eight people remain. Abi looks pissed because Jon is still there.
